PROJECT: LOCOS AWAY
45 Locomotives shipped over 3 voyages from Gladstone to Bell Bay, Tasmania. The concept was worked out by Project Shipping on behalf of Project Carriers for Queensland Railways. The vessel was converted in about 4 days to be an instant locomotive carrier; the weight of each locomotive being around 84 metric tonnes. The locomotives were loaded from rail tracks in Gladstone to rail tracks in Bell Bay without any outside transport required.

PROJECT: HYDRO ELECTRIC TURBINE MACHINERY
Hydro electric generating machinery shipped from Rotterdam to Melbourne for transport to "Yarrawong Hydro Project". Project Carriers shipped and delivered the equipment to Yarrawong on a "Turn Key, Hands On" basis.
PROJECT: MINING ROOF SUPPORTS
A complete Longwall Mining Roof support system, totalling about 5,000 Tonnes shipped from the U.K. to the port of Mackay, Northern Queensland. Project Carriers provided total transport and handling of all equipment from factory door in U.K. to the White Mining's North Goonyella mine site in Northern Queensland.
PROJECT: BALL MILLS
Ball Mills shipped from the Far East to Australia, New Zealand and Zimbabwe. Images show Ball Mill being Discharged by vessels owning lifting gear and loaded directly onto road transport at Darwin for delivery to BHP's gold mining operation in Northern Territory of Australia. In shallow and difficult ports where access to wharf is not available, Project Carriers provide barges to transport cargo to and from the ocean going vessels.
PROJECT: MINING SHOVEL
The knocked down mining shovel was shipped from the manufacturers private wharf in Japan direct to Newcastle, Australia for easy road transport to a coal mine in the Hunter Valley. The shovel consisted of many different weights and shapes and required special stowage and lifting arrangements. All cargo was succesfully discharged in one day. Image shows an 80 Tonne piece prior to discharge in Newcastle and part of the shovel being loaded directly onto transport in Newcastle.
PROJECT: PLANT MACHINERY
5000 CBM carbon black plant shipped from Freemantle, Western Australia to Laem Chabang, Thailand. Total supervision was provided for a smooth and successful operation.
PROJECT: PRESSURE VESSELS
220 Tonnes - 37 metres long, 6 metres in diameter pressure vessels loaded from Eglo's (Transport Group) own wharf at Adelaide, Australia. Project Carriers provided a complete "Turn Key" operation and total supervision.
PROJECT: TRANSFORMERS
2x 200 metric tonne transformers being discharged at Portland, Victoria for delivery to the State Electricity Commision of Victoria for the Haywood Electricity Project. The Transformers and accessories were shipped from Scotland. They were loaded and discharged with vessel's own heavy lifting gear. Special wharf and transport arrangements had to be made at the port of discharge.
